Free-agent quarterback Trevone Boykin was arrested at his home in Mansfield, Texas, on Wednesday and charged with aggravated assault, according to The Associated Press.
Boykin's girlfriend, Shabrika Bailey, said in a recent interview with WFAA-TV in Dallas that he severely beat her, breaking her jaw. Mansfield police were able to review footage of the March 21 incident captured by his home security video system.
Boykin, 24, was released from the Seattle Seahawks' practice squad Tuesday after the interview.
He has denied assaulting Bailey, and his agent told the TV station that her statements are false.
