FOX has apparently settled on a Plan B after Peyton Manning turned down the chance to lead the network's Thursday Night Football coverage.

Troy Aikman and Joe Buck, FOX's No. 1 NFL team, are in the beginning stages of negotiations with the network to take on the TNF broadcast booth, sources told the New York Post's Andrew Marchand.

Aikman and Buck would continue to be the top unit for Sundays, but will likely be given some of those games off in order to lighten their workload to accommodate TNF, added Marchand.

FOX paid $3.3 billion for the rights to TNF for the next five years.
