Ex-NFL RB Pead wants to win Paralympics gold after losing leg

Isaiah Pead's NFL dream was cut short by a serious car accident in 2016 that required him to have his leg amputated, but the former running back is still aiming to prove himself among the world's best athletes.

Pead, 28, told TMZ that he's planning to train for the 2020 Paralympics and won't settle for anything less than the top spot.

"I was talking to my friends and it was like, 'What's your goals?'" Pead said. "If they let me on the track, I'm going for the gold, period."

A former 100-meter and 400-meter state champion in high school who played in the NFL from 2012-16, Pead said he's in the early stages of learning how to run with a prosthetic leg, but appears confident that he'll get up to speed in time to make some noise in two years.
