Giants' Mara reiterates Beckham stance: 'He's not on the block'

Amid more reports Tuesday stating that the New York Giants are listening to trade offers for Odell Beckham Jr., franchise co-owner John Mara again stated the superstar receiver isn't being shopped.

"He's not on the block," Mara told reporters at the NFL owners' meetings in Orlando, according to Ralph Vacchiano of SNY. "Is that going to stop clubs from possibly calling us? No. But he's not on the block. We're not shopping him around."

Beckham's contract - and status with the Giants - has been a point of heavy conversation in recent days. The 25-year-old is reportedly planning to hold out until he gets a new deal, but his determination to become the NFL's highest-paid player has complicated negotiations with New York.

"I want him to be a Giant," Mara said. "But I can't sit here and tell you that it is 100 percent guarantee that that's going to happen."

Mara added the Giants would have to be "overwhelmed" to entertain an offer for Beckham, who's scheduled to hit free agency in 2019 but would almost certainly draw the franchise tag if an extension isn't worked out before then.

Mara said Sunday the Giants weren't shopping Beckham, but stopped short of calling him untouchable.
