With his fifth overtime goal of the campaign, this time against the Minnesota Wild, Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand tied the NHL record for the most overtime goals in a single season.
Marchand's five extra-period winners matches Montreal Canadiens forward Alex Galchenyuk, who had five during the 2016-17 season, Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews, who did so in 2015-16, and Tampa Bay Lightning forward Steven Stamkos, who completed the feat during the 2011-12 campaign.
The 29-year-old also added an assist in the 2-1 victory to reach the 80-point plateau for the second straight year.
