Report: Gore making free-agent visit with Dolphins

One of the biggest names remaining on the open market is set to visit with the Miami Dolphins.

Five-time Pro Bowl running back Frank Gore will meet with the Dolphins on Thursday, a source informed ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Gore was born in Miami and played his college ball at the University of Miami. He could be heading home for the final stop of his professional career.

The 13-year veteran spent the first 10 seasons of his career with the San Francisco 49ers and the past three with the Indianapolis Colts.

He currently ranks fifth in NFL history in career rushing yards with 14,026. He's just 75 yards behind Curtis Martin for fourth on the all-time list.

Nearing his 35th birthday, Gore remains productive. Although his yards-per-carry average dropped below 4 in each of the past three seasons, he fell just short of 1,000 yards during the 2017 campaign. His 961 yards on the ground were good for the 12th most by a running back last year.
