Danny Amendola is leaving the New England Patriots but staying in the AFC East, as the free-agent receiver is expected to sign with the Miami Dolphins, a source told Dan Hellie of NFL Network.

The deal is for two years at $12 million with $8.25 million guaranteed, according to Peter Schrager of FoxSports.com.

Amendola will likely replace slot receiver Jarvis Landry, whom the Dolphins will reportedly trade to the Cleveland Browns. No trade can be completed until Wednesday, the start of the league new year.

The 32-year-old Amendola has spent the past five seasons in New England. He is coming off his best year as a Patriot in terms of yards (659) in 2017.

He also excelled in the postseason, catching 26 passes for 348 yards and two touchdowns while helping New England reach the Super Bowl.
