The Minnesota Vikings have reached out to New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees now that the NFL's free-agent negotiation window has opened, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, several other teams in need of a signal-caller have contacted Brees' agent Tom Condon as well.

The 39-year-old Brees will officially become an unrestricted free agent at 4 p.m. ET on March 14.

Brees has long been expected to re-sign in New Orleans, but with the two sides unable to reach a deal to this point in the offseason, several suitors are seizing the opportunity to make a bid for his services.

Case Keenum, Teddy Bridgewater, and Sam Bradford all being set to hit free agency puts the Vikings in the market for a quarterback. Minnesota is reportedly expected to be among the final four teams in the running for Kirk Cousins.
