The Miami Dolphins have put an end to the Lawrence Timmons experiment.
The Dolphins have released the linebacker just one year into the two-year, $12-million deal he inked with the team last March, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Monday.
Timmons' short stint in the Sunshine State got off to a rough start, as he was briefly suspended early in the 2017 season for going AWOL prior to the Dolphins' Week 2 tilt against the Los Angeles Chargers. He was reinstated shortly thereafter and played in 14 of 16 games, compiling 84 tackles and three pass breakups.
