The Los Angeles Chargers have agreed to a contract extension with cornerback Casey Hayward.

Hayward's extension is reportedly a three-year deal worth $36 million, including $20 million fully guaranteed, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The Chargers previously signed the former Green Bay Packer to a three-year, $15-million contract in 2016, which proved to be a worthy investment. Hayward has picked off 11 passes in two seasons with the club, while evolving into one of the NFL's premier cover corners.

The reported $12 million average annual value would make him the 10th-highest paid player at his position, according to Over the Cap.

The 28-year-old started all 16 games for the Chargers in 2017 and was named a second-team All-Pro.
