Arizona Coyotes defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson has been fined $5,000 for slashing Colorado's Sven Andrighetto, the NHL announced Saturday.
The incident occurred during the third period of Saturday's loss to the Avalanche, and led to a major skirmish.
Ekman-Larsson received minor penalties for slashing and cross-checking on the play.
The fine is the maximum allowable under the collective bargaining agreement.
