Richard Sherman's future is in his hands following his release from the Seattle Seahawks on Friday.

With free agency scheduled to get underway on March 14, Sherman made it clear that he's still aiming for a Super Bowl.

"I want to go to a contender," Sherman said Friday on KIRO 97.3 FM, per ESPN's Brady Henderson. "I play at (a) high level. I've always been a guy that can work well with others and continue to elevate if my teammates elevate and elevate others. In Seattle, we had a lot of guys playing at a high level regardless. ... We had to fit in like puzzle pieces and play off each other. We all did that very well, and that's why we had the success we had.

"Would I go to a young secondary that is like we were when we were younger and help them grow and help them advance? Sure, if the number looks right and the situation is comfortable for me and my family."

Sherman also made reference to Drake's "Diplomatic Immunity" on Friday, tweeting out an infographic that noted he ranked first in interceptions, passes defensed, and completion percentage allowed since 2011.

The 29-year-old was one of the key components of the "Legion of Boom," helping Seattle lead the NFL in scoring defense from 2012-15. He was named to four consecutive Pro Bowls from 2013-16.

While it will certainly be jarring to see Sherman in a jersey other than the Seahawks', he seems ready to move on to the next chapter of his career.
