The Los Angeles Rams agreed to a deal with cornerback Sam Shields, the team announced Thursday.
After six successful seasons with the Green Bay Packers - a stint that included a Super Bowl XLV championship and a Pro Bowl selection in 2014 - Shields was released in February 2017. The 30-year-old hasn't played since suffering his fourth known concussion in Week 1 of the 2016 season.
When healthy, Shields earned a reputation as one of the league's best corners and has been praised specifically for his cover ability. From 2010-15, the veteran amassed 18 interceptions, including five in the postseason.
