The iconic moments from Richard Sherman's Seahawks career

The Seattle Seahawks parted ways with one of the biggest names in franchise history on Friday when they reportedly informed flamboyant corner Richard Sherman of his release.

For an organization with just four Hall of Famers who played the major part of their careers with the team, Sherman may be its most recognizable player.

During his seven-year run, he became one of the league's best shutdown corners and brashest personalities.

Here are the five most iconic moments from the three-time first-team All-Pro's Seahawks career.

'U mad, bro?'

In the midst of his first All-Pro season, Sherman and the Seahawks met Tom Brady and the New England Patriots in Week 6.

Though it was just his second year in the league, Sherman engaged in some trash talk with Brady during the game. He recorded an interception that day and, after the win, took to Twitter to send Brady another message.

Though he later deleted the tweet, Sherman had "U mad, bro?" branded on hats and T-shirts, and even autographed the image for fans with the three-word inscription. It was just the beginning of Sherman's savagery.

The tip

It's perhaps the best play he's ever made.

In the 2013 NFC Championship Game, with 30 seconds left and the Seahawks leading 23-17, the San Francisco 49ers were driving for the game-winning touchdown. Colin Kaepernick threw a corner fade to receiver Michael Crabtree and the ball appeared destined for him, but Sherman swatted it away, falling into teammate Malcolm Smith's waiting hands for the game-sealing interception.

The win sent the Seahawks to the Super Bowl and Sherman into histrionics.

Erin Andrews interview

FOX sideline reporter Erin Andrews found Sherman celebrating on the field and the following made for television gold:

"I'm the best receiver in the game! When you try me with a sorry receiver like Crabtree, that's the result you gon' get! Don't you ever talk about me!" Sherman screamed, before staring directly into the camera for a full two seconds.

Andrews correctly followed up by asking Sherman to elaborate on just who was bringing his name up.

"Crabtree. Don't you open your mouth about the best, or imma shut it for you real quick! L.O.B.!"

It is still football's most memorable postgame, on-field interview. But Sherman wasn't done there.

'Mediocre'

Yes, three of Sherman's most iconic moments stemmed from the same play. They were just that great.

After he ethered Crabtree on live television, the communications major from Stanford continued in his postgame press conference.

"I was making sure everybody knew that Crabtree was a mediocre receiver. Me-di-ocre," Sherman said.

"And when you try the best corner in the game with a mediocre receiver that's what happens. Game."

Legendary.

Reaction to Malcolm Butler interception

Sherman's career with the Seahawks may have come to an end, but it will live on in GIF form.

His response to Malcolm Butler's interception on the 1-yard line in the dying seconds of Super Bowl XLIX is one of the most real and memorable reactions.
