The top pass-rusher is off the market.
The Dallas Cowboys announced they've placed the franchise tag on Demarcus Lawrence.
The one-year tender is worth $17.143 million, according to Albert Breer of MMQB.
Lawrence registered 14.5 sacks in a breakout season, tied for second in the league.
A long-term deal is a necessity for Dallas, who had just over $17 million in cap space before tagging Lawrence and will still need room to sign other free agents and its draft class.
