Juventus has revived its hopes of landing Hector Bellerin, with a report Friday suggesting the Italian side will target the Arsenal defender this summer.
It's believed the right-back is considering a future outside of north London, and that Juventus is increasingly confident over a summer move for Bellerin despite failing to convince Arsenal with a last-second offer on transfer deadline day last summer, according to David Hynter of the Guardian.
Arsenal is expected to resist offers for Bellerin, who signed a new long-term contract in November 2016, unless clubs are willing to spend at least £45 million to procure the 22-year-old's services.
Juventus is the latest of a trio of Europe's elite to express an interest following reports that Barcelona and Manchester City have failed in previous bids to sign him.
Hynter points out that Arsenal's new head of player negotiations, Raul Sanllehui, was on the other end of negotiations when he attempted to swing a deal on behalf of Barcelona, with whom his was employed by until his move to England in February. Sanllehui is thought to be sympathetic to Bellerin's desire to seek a new challenge abroad.
Since joining Arsenal from Barcelona's academy as a 16-year-old, Bellerin has blossomed into one of the top right-backs in England by helping Arsenal win a pair of FA Cups, as well as earning a number of call-ups to the Spanish national team.
Meanwhile, Juventus is expected to spend a majority of the summer searching for upgrades at right-back with the expected departure of Stephan Lichtsteiner, whose contract expires in June. Mattia De Sciglio arrived from Milan last summer for €12 million, but the 25-year-old would likely struggle to break into the starting XI if Juve manages to sign Bellerin.
