Teams looking to make a splash at tight end this offseason now have another option on the free-agent market, as pending free agent Tyler Eifert has been medically cleared to participate in OTAs and play in the upcoming season, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Eifert hasn't played since undergoing micro-disc surgery in October. He had previously undergone back surgery in December of 2016.
Despite missing the bulk of last season, he has proven to be a decent option at the tight end position. In 2015, he caught 52 passes for 615 yards and 13 touchdowns for the Cincinnati Bengals.
