The Boston Bruins have signed winger Brian Gionta to a one-year, $700,000 contract, the team announced Sunday.
Gionta was rumored to have drawn interest while captaining Team USA at Pyeongchang 2018, where he went pointless in five contests. The 39-year-old last played in the NHL with the Buffalo Sabres in 2016-17, recording 35 points in 82 games.
Adding Gionta was the Bruins second move of the day, as the club also acquired Rick Nash from the New York Rangers.
