The Buffalo Sabres shipped winger Evander Kane to the San Jose Sharks, the clubs announced Monday.

The return package heading Buffalo's way is a conditional 2019 first-round pick, a conditional fourth-round pick in 2019, and forward prospect Dan O'Regan, according to Pierre LeBrun of TSN.

O'Regan, 24, played 19 games with the Sharks this season, notching four assists. In 31 AHL contests in 2017-18, he recorded 25 points. He's also familiar with superstar Jack Eichel, as the two were teammates at Boston University, notes Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News.

As a pending unrestricted free agent, Kane was one of the top targets on this year's trade board. The deal does not include a contract extension, however, McKenzie reports.

In 61 games this season, Kane has 40 points.
