After a disappointing result for his native Sweden, Erik Karlsson has a backup plan.
The Swedes were upset by Germany 4-3 in Olympic quarter-final action on Wednesday, dashing the country's medal hopes after it earned the top seed in the preliminaries. Alas, the Senators defenseman will now be pulling for the country he's called home for the last nine NHL seasons.
Devastating Sweden won’t bring home any hardware in hockey this time around. I guess I’ll have to cheer for my second home country instead. 🇸🇪🇨🇦 #Olympic

Canada will take on Germany on Friday, with the winner earning a spot in the gold medal game.
