Eagles seek 'Philly Special' trademark
The Philadelphia Eagles submitted a trademark request for the term "Philly Special," according to ESPN's Darren Rovell.
The Eagles intend to feature the phrase primarily on apparel merchandise, but could face competition from seven other groups who've filed the same request.
The "Philly Special" was the name of the play that saw quarterback Nick Foles catch a touchdown pass from tight end Trey Burton on a gutsy fourth-down call near the goal line in Super Bowl LII - easily the most famous moment from the game.
There was some controversy over whether the Eagles lined up in an illegal formation on the play, but it counted, regardless. Philadelphia topped the New England Patriots 41-33 on Feb. 5 to capture its first Super Bowl in franchise history.
