Many of the nation's best prospects will be in attendance on April 26 to await their name being called in this year's NFL draft, but Baker Mayfield will not be one of them.

The former Oklahoma quarterback confirmed after picking up his Davey O'Brien Award on Monday that he has decided not to attend the draft at AT&T Stadium and will watch proceedings at home with his family instead, according to Bill Jones of CBS 11 Sports.

Players skipping the draft in favor of spending the day at home with family and friends is nothing new, and Mayfield explained his decision was based on a desire to be with those who have supported him up until this point.

Mayfield has been heralded by many as a potential top-10 pick in this year's draft, and his name could come off the board sooner rather than later with a number of teams in need of a starting quarterback for next season.
