The Atlanta Hawks announced they have waived Marco Belinelli, buying out the last year of his three-year, $19-million contract.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, several contenders are interested in the 31-year-old shooting guard's services.

It was reported last month that the Hawks were asking for a second-round pick in exchange for the veteran or teammate Ersan Ilyasova, but both remained with Atlanta after Thursday's trade deadline.

Belinelli should be a hot commodity as a free agent on the post-buyout market. He's a career 37.7 percent 3-point shooter, and has averaged a career-high 17.6 points per 36 minutes this season. Teams in the market for shooting such as the Toronto Raptors, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Miami Heat could be front-runners to land him.
