Scott Boras is in damage control mode.

After it was reported that his client J.D. Martinez was fed up with negotiating with the Boston Red Sox, Boras spent the following day labeling those rumors as false.

"J.D. Martinez has never made any statement regarding the Red Sox," Boras said, according to Evan Drellich of CSN Boston. "J.D. is involved in multiple negotiations and is pleased with the participants and the good-faith process. Suggestions otherwise are not accurate."

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reported Tuesday that Martinez had told people in Miami that he had grown frustrated with Boston's inflexibility and wished to sign elsewhere. It has been widely reported that the Red Sox have offered Martinez a five-year, $125-million deal, but Martinez is willing to hold out until a team meet his demands.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are the only other team that are believed to be on on Martinez, with it being reported Wednesday that they offered the slugger a one-year contract.
