The Detroit Lions made a number of coaching announcements Wednesday, with the most significant being the hiring of Paul Pasqualoni as defensive coordinator.
The move comes after Matt Patricia was hired as head coach, so it's likely the two will work collaboratively given Patricia's extensive history as a defensive coordinator.
Paqualoni spent the previous two seasons as defensive line coach at Boston College, and has previous NFL experience as defensive coordinator with the Dallas Cowboys (2010) and Miami Dolphins (2008-09).
The 68-year-old also has over 20 years of head coaching experience at the college level, most notably with Syracuse from 1991-04, and parts of three seasons as head coach at Connecticut from 2011-13.
