The roughly 100 remaining unsigned free agents might not have a team to report to when spring training opens next week, but there might be somewhere they can get together in order to prepare for the upcoming season.

The Major League Baseball Players' Association is reportedly preparing for the possibility of holding a camp in both Florida and Arizona that unsigned players can attend in order to get their work in, several sources told Jerry Crasnick of ESPN. Players wouldn't likely take part in any games, but the camp would allow them to prepare in a structured setting close to where MLB clubs make their spring homes.

It's unknown how many players would attend such a camp. One agent told Crasnick that a camp would create a bond among the unsigned players while allowing them to keep some semblance of a normal routine. Another shot down the idea, saying that players would most likely stay home and continue to work out in their own facilities, rather than go and live in a hotel in an unknown place.

Tensions between the union and league remain high as the start of the season gets closer. Union president Tony Clark released a statement Tuesday stating that the league has too many teams tanking, which has resulted in so many unsigned free agents. The league responded shortly after stating that: "Our clubs are committed to putting a winning product on the field for their fans."
