Fans use phones to light up gym after power outage at wrestling tournament
Wrestling fans came to the rescue after the power went out during a Class 4A divisional tournament at Dixie High School in St. George, Utah, on Saturday night.
The power outage occurred toward the end of a 170-pound match, according to Sean Walker of KSL.com. As tournament officials gathered to decide what to do, students and parents started to light up the gym with the flashlights on their cell phones.
Officials determined there was enough light to finish the tournament, and the match resumed.
Competing in the dark? Not a problem when you're surrounded by cell phones. Great video from the 4A Divisional Wrestling tournament at @DixieHighSchool shows how a power outage didn't stop the competition. Maybe this could qualify as a new #Olympic event!

"These days, everybody has a light on their cell phone, so you start seeing lights come on as people try to figure out what's going on," Dixie wrestling coach Jarad Carson said. "We brought everybody matside. It was very intimate, completely surrounded by kids and fans and people that were in our building."
When the lights go out, no problem. We have cell power to finish the finals at Divisionals. Try to do that at a basketball game. #lightsout #wrestling #bestsportever pic.twitter.com/Ku7BuiNovD
