Jose Mourinho couldn't confirm whether or not Zlatan Ibrahimovic is in talks to join LA Galaxy, but insisted Manchester United will not prevent the Swedish forward from pursuing opportunities.

Reports surfaced late Sunday suggesting Ibrahimovic is close to completing a move to join the Major League Soccer team.

The Galaxy apparently revived efforts to sign the star following comments from the team's president, Chris Klein, last year, when he suggested the "doors are open" and that the MLS club has an "incredible" relationship with the player and his agent.

Mourinho claimed he's unaware of the 36-year-old's reported desire to move to California. However, if there's any truth to the report, he added the Premier League club will help accommodate the transition to the North American league.

"If it's true and he wants a future at another club, we are here to help," Mourinho said, according to BBC Sport.

"But Zlatan told me he wants to recover and feel ready to help the team."

Ibrahimovic, who re-joined United on a one-year contract last summer, has been limited to just six appearances so far this season because of a knee problem.

He has not appeared in a match for United since Dec. 26, but Mourinho insists he is not currently dealing with an injury.

"He's working hard to be fit. I wouldn't say he's injured," Mourinho said.

"He is in a moment of trying to feel really ready for demands of Premier League football."
