Report: Panthers to interview interim GM Hurney, Texans exec Raye this week
The Carolina Panthers will interview interim general manager Marty Hurney for the full-time position this week, a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Houston Texans vice president of player personnel Jimmy Raye III will also interview for the vacancy, added Schefter, as will Buffalo Bills assistant director of college scouting Lake Dawson, sources told Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Hurney was named the interim GM last July following the surprise dismissal of Dave Gettleman. Hurney previously served as the Panthers GM from 2002-12, appearing in two NFC Championship Games and one Super Bowl.
Meanwhile, Raye has served one season in his current role with Houston. Before that, Raye worked in the front office of the Indianapolis Colts and the then-San Diego Chargers.
Dawson was an NFL receiver for six years before moving into scouting. He spent 2016 with the Cleveland Browns and was part of the Tennessee Titans' front office for nine years prior to last year.
