Report: Mayfield agrees to play in Senior Bowl
The question was asked all week: Will Baker Mayfield play in the Senior Bowl?
Just hours before the game, Robert Klemko of The MMQB learned that Mayfield has "made a firm decision to play." He'll become the first Heisman Trophy winner to play in the game in the year he won the award since Carson Palmer in 2001.
The most outstanding player in college football opted to attend the showcase game in order to address any questions about his character. The Oklahoma quarterback has done that by meeting with teams and absorbing the Senior Bowl playbook within three days.
Mayfield may be limited to just one series, however, ESPN's Mike Triplett reports.
"I have three years of game film people can watch if they wanna see how I handle games," Mayfield said on SiriusXM NFL Radio on Wednesday. "Main decision coming down here was meeting people ... and showing I can learn an offense in three days."
