Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas hinted at a holdout if he doesn't receive a contract extension during the offseason.

Thomas was named to the Pro Bowl for the sixth time and has established himself as arguably the best safety of his generation.

The 28-year-old is scheduled to become a free agent after the 2018 season and is owed $8.5 million in base salary for the final year of his contract.

"I want to finish my career there," Thomas said Thursday to ESPN's Michael DiRocco and Brady Henderson. "I definitely don't see myself going out there not signed. But I'm going to continue to work my butt off and enjoy this process at the Pro Bowl.

"As far as my future in Seattle, I think if they want me, you know, money talks. We'll get something accomplished. Other than that, I'm just taking it one day at a time."

Thomas has spent his entire career with the Seahawks after being selected 14th overall in the 2010 NFL Draft. The standout safety helped the Seahawks win their lone Super Bowl title in franchise history in 2013, and is one of the core components of the "Legion of Boom."

After a December victory against the Dallas Cowboys, Thomas told Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett "come get me," leading some to believe that he'd sign with his boyhood club when his deal expires.
