West Ham United will reportedly be without one of its target men until April.

According to the Guardian's Dominic Fifield, West Ham lost Andy Carroll for three months after the English striker underwent foot surgery. The product of Newcastle United apparently hoped that a period of rest and wearing a protective boot might speed up rehabilitation from a fracture that was sustained in the Hammers' 2-1 victory over West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League, but a second specialist advised surgery as the best course of action.

Carroll, who took the pitch in West Ham's 1-1 draw at Tottenham Hotspur three days after the win, was allegedly the subject of interest from Chelsea. Per the Guardian's Mark Dobson, the move was scuppered by the injury as he was due for talks over a £20-million switch.

Manuel Lanzini suffered a knock as West Ham and AFC Bournemouth played out a 1-1 draw at London Stadium on Saturday, and could reportedly be out for weeks with a hamstring injury. David Moyes is to apparently reassess transfer targets, including Newcastle's Jonjo Shelvey, for whom there's strong interest. West Ham is allegedly intent on adding to the Scottish's manager options, and the tactician travelled to Spain on Sunday to watch potential targets with Stuart Pearce, who was dispatched to assess RSC Anderlecht's Leander Dendocker.

West Ham is reportedly likely to sanction only one departure and is reluctant to let Javier Hernandez leave.

Carroll's two goals in the Premier League this season were tallied in the victory over West Brom.
