The Cleveland Cavaliers are trying to make some big moves ahead of the trade deadline.

The team is pursuing a trade for Los Angeles Clippers big man DeAndre Jordan, league sources told The New York Times' Marc Stein.

Jordan, 29, would provide the dominant interior presence the Cavs are sorely lacking. The former All-Star center is averaging 11.8 points, 14.9 rebounds, and a block per game in his 10th season, and would inject some life into Cleveland's 28th-ranked defense, helping it out of the league's basement in rebounds, blocks, and steals.

The Cavaliers are also reportedly interested in Clippers guard Lou Williams and have offered packages including Tristan Thompson and J.R. Smith.

TNT's David Aldridge confirms Cleveland has contacted Los Angeles about Williams, adding that talks have stalled due to the Clippers' insistence on the inclusion of the Brooklyn Nets' unprotected 2018 first-round pick that the Cavaliers hold from the Kyrie Irving deal.

In his 13th campaign, Williams is averaging a career-best 23.2 points on 41.2 percent shooting from long range to go along with five dimes and 2.6 rebounds per game, primarily off the bench.

Despite the trade rumors, Aldridge notes the Clippers are still exploring a contract extension with Williams, whose $7-million deal expires after this season.

Cleveland is rumored to be interested in a separate trade with the Sacramento Kings for veteran point guard George Hill to bolster its oft-injured backcourt.
