The Atlanta Falcons are expected to retain offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian for the 2018 season despite the unit's poor performance in their divisional playoff loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, reports NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Sarkisian continues to have the full confidence of head coach Dan Quinn and his staff, though the team dropped from first in scoring in 2016 to 15th after his arrival this season.

Sarkisian took over an offense that boasted the 2016 NFL MVP after Kyle Shanahan departed to join the San Francisco 49ers. Along with the dip in scoring offense, the Falcons ranked in the bottom third in the league in red-zone offense.

In Saturday's loss to the Eagles, the Falcons went 1-for-3 in the red zone, including their final possession in which they failed to score the game-winning touchdown after taking four cracks from within the Eagles' 10-yard line.
