Favre hopes to see Vikings do what he couldn't - take down Saints

Brett Favre may have been inducted into the Green Bay Packers' Hall of Fame in 2015, but he isn't ignoring his time with their rivals.

The Hall of Fame quarterback says he's hoping the Minnesota Vikings can defeat the New Orleans Saints in front of their home crowd on Sunday to move onto the NFC Championship game.

"I want to see the Vikes win," Favre told Mark Craig of the Star Tribune via email Friday. "It's their time."

Favre played for the Vikings the final two years of his career, leading them to the 2009 NFC Championship game, where he lost to the Saints in large part thanks to a late interception. The 48-year-old retiree believes the Vikings will have the Saints' number this time.

"The Vikings match up well, especially against the Saints' offense," Favre said. "The Saints will have some success, but I don't think enough to get a win. The hostile environment will help tremendously."
