Manchester City has reportedly tabled a new bid in its pursuit of Alexis Sanchez.

According to the Guardian's Fabrizio Romano and Ed Aarons, City submitted a £20-million offer for Sanchez in an attempt to secure the signing of the Chilean attacker in the January transfer window, and it's understood that the product of Cobreloa already agreed to terms on a contract valued at around £250,000 per week.

Sanchez apparently came close to joining City in the summer transfer window, but the deal collapsed when Arsenal failed to sign a replacement in time. Per the Guardian's David Hytner, the footballer remained at the Emirates Stadium after the Citizens offered £55 million plus £5 million in add-ons, and the player that the Gunners wanted was AS Monaco's Thomas Lemar, for whom the north London club was willing to pay £100 million.

Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are reportedly keen on Sanchez, who is permitted to discuss terms with overseas clubs. But City apparently remains the front-runner, and it's understood the Citizens offered £13 million per season until 2023. They allegedly have no intention of increasing the bid if it's rejected by Arsenal.

On Tuesday, Arsene Wenger insisted Arsenal is yet to make contact with City, and that there's "nothing to add" regarding the Gunners' stance. Sanchez was omitted from the club's squad for its tie at Nottingham Forest in the third round of the FA Cup, which the Reds won 4-2.

Gabriel Jesus' medial collateral ligament injury reportedly increased Pep Guardiola's desire to add Sanchez to City's squad, as the Citizens implied a pursuit of the latter wouldn't happen until the summer.

Sanchez played under Guardiola for one season at Barcelona.
