The Oakland Raiders have reportedly fulfilled the requirements of the Rooney Rule in their current search for a new head coach.
There was some question as to whether the Raiders ran afoul of league stipulations in their rumored pursuit of Jon Gruden. However, John Wooten - the chairman of the Fritz Pollard Alliance, which works with teams on hiring practices - informed ESPN's Josina Anderson that the team interviewed two minority candidates during its coaching hunt.
One of those interviews was with Raiders tight ends coach Bobby Johnson, according to ESPN's Adam Caplan.
The Rooney Rule is in place to ensure NFL teams interview a minority candidate for any head coaching or general manager opening.
