Report: T.J. Ward charged with possessing 99 grams of marijuana
Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety T.J. Ward was arrested Wednesday on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear stemming from an October arrest in which he was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, multiple reports confirm.
The arrest stems from an incident on Oct. 25 when police responded to an active intrusion alarm at Ward's apartment. When authorities arrived, Ward's girlfriend granted them entry, leading police to discover 99.9 grams of marijuana, according to Jenna Laine of ESPN. Possessing 20 or more grams is considered a felony charge.
Ward was charged on Dec. 29 after a warrant for his arrest was issued by the Hillsborough County Fla. Sheriff's Office, who took Ward into custody on Wednesday. He was later released after posting $2,500 bond.
The three-time Pro Bowl safety joined the Bucs last year on a one-year deal and will be a free agent in February.
