The NFC's top team is set to receive a significant defensive reinforcement.

Philadelphia Eagles rookie cornerback Sidney Jones is expected to make his season and NFL debut Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys after being activated to the 53-man roster Saturday, the team announced.

The second-round pick was projected to be a be selected high in the first round, but tore his Achilles tendon during his pro day in March and slipped to the Eagles.

Jones is likely to be eased back into action, but the Eagles' 20th-ranked pass defense is in need of a boost, so he could have an expanded role in the playoffs.
