Vince McMahon is reportedly interested in launching his own professional football league again, but former ESPN anchor and WWE commentator Jonathan "The Coach" Coachman wouldn't be surprised to see him in the NFL instead.

Coachman, who also worked as an analyst for the XFL during its lone season, brought up the possibility of McMahon purchasing the Carolina Panthers during an interview with TMZ Sports.

"Let's remember where Vince's home base is ... North Carolina," Coachman said. "He has a restaurant in North Carolina. Triple H's (McMahon's son-in-law) bachelor party was in Raleigh, North Carolina ... Vince has legitimate money. He's a billionaire. He can come up with the funds and he's also at the age where the other owners would respect that.

"I'm not saying that he would, but I think that's a second possibility that people aren't kind of tossing out there."

Panthers owner Jerry Richardson announced plans to sell the franchise at the end of the season after sexual and racial misconduct allegations were made against him.

McMahon recently sold $100 million worth of WWE shares to fund Alpha Entertainment LLC, which was "established to explore investment opportunities across the sports and entertainment landscapes, including professional football."
