Former Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison went through waivers unclaimed and is now free to sign with any team in the league, a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Harrison, the Steelers' franchise sack leader, was waived Saturday. The 39-year-old collected three tackles and a sack in five appearances this year, and was frustrated by his diminished role through 15 weeks of the campaign.
It remains to be seen if any team will come calling, but Harrison's agent said following the release he was under the impression his client still had a desire to play.
Harrison posted five-plus sacks in each of the previous three seasons.
