The NFL won't feature Sunday Night Football on the final week of the regular season, instead scheduling every Week 17 game for the afternoon in an effort to preserve competitive fairness for playoff-hopeful teams.
The league has capped every regular season since 1977 with a game on Sunday night or Monday night, but will leave NBC's Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth without a contest to call this year.

As a result, Michaels will be left to sing the SNF theme to himself when the time comes.
