Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said Friday that tight end Kyle Rudolph won't be able to play in Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals due to an ankle injury, according to Ben Goessling of the Star Tribune.

However, Rudolph was listed as doubtful by the Vikings later on Friday, meaning he still has a small chance at suiting up.

David Morgan will likely get the start in if Rudolph can't go.

It's a significant loss for the NFC North-leading Vikings. Rudolph has been a consistent safety blanket for Case Keenum this season, catching 53 passes for 506 yards.

The tight end has also been in red-hot form of late, contributing four touchdowns in the last three games.
