Rodgers says he isn't going to single-handedly save Packers with return

Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy doesn't want his team to be filled with "a bunch of false confidence" from the return of Aaron Rodgers this Sunday against the Carolina Panthers, and the quarterback is echoing that sentiment.

While many have assumed Rodgers' return will automatically elevate the Packers, the star passer humbly declined that he can get his team to the postseason on his own.

"Hopefully, it gives a lift to some of the guys, but I'm not coming back to save this team," Rodgers said Wednesday, according to ESPN's Rob Demovsky. "I'm coming back to play quarterback the way I know how to play it. Hopefully, we all raise the level of our play collectively and find a way to win these three games."

McCarthy has been adamant the Packers will not alter their play-calling or general offensive strategy to adjust to any limitations their QB may face.

"I feel confident I will be able to go out there and play the way I've always played, but I've been off for seven games and been out for a while," Rodgers said. "So, it's going to take getting out there, getting that first pass, getting that first hit, and I'll probably settle in."
