NFL Network sexual harassment lawsuit being taken very seriously, says Goodell
The NFL isn't attempting to sweep a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by a former employee under the rug.
Commissioner Roger Goodell addressed the allegations Wednesday at a press conference at the NFL owners' meetings, stating that league employees are expected to treat each other with respect.
"We take that very seriously," Goodell said Wednesday, according to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk. "Those are issues that are important to us, to make sure all of our employees, at the network, the league office, the clubs, are working in a safe and comfortable environment.
"Any time that doesn't exist we’re going to make sure we deal with that very quickly and very seriously."
The former NFL Network employee named former players Marshall Faulk, Ike Taylor, Heath Evans, Warren Sapp, Donovan McNabb, and executive Eric Weinberger in her lawsuit, claiming that all made inappropriate sexual advances toward her. All the accused have either been suspended by NFL Network or no longer work there.
