The Washington Redskins are putting an end to tight end Jordan Reed's 2017 season, placing the veteran on injured reserve with a hamstring injury on Tuesday.

Two seasons removed from his 952-yard, 11-touchdown performance, the 2016 Pro Bowler caught just 27 passes for 211 yards with two scores in six games this year, before being forced to miss every contest since Week 8. Reed dealt with the hamstring issue in training camp and was not able to shake the injury this season.

The Redskins, who sit 12th in the NFC standings, also sent running back Byron Marshall and linebacker Chris Carter to injured reserve.
