Wide receiver Kenny Britt was released from the Cleveland Browns almost immediately upon John Dorsey's takeover as general manager, after catching just 18 of 37 targets for 233 yards and two touchdowns in nine games this season.

However, Britt quickly found a new home in New England and is now receiving a warm welcome from Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

"You know, he’s just kind of come in and worked hard the last couple days and trying to understand all the things we’ve got going,” Brady said, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

“Hopefully, we can add something to the mix here in a short period of time. It’s always challenging for a guy to come in late and pick up everything at once, but hopefully he can figure out a role. He’s had a lot of production and he’s going to have to go out and earn it, earn everybody’s trust to get out there, but he’s done a good job the first couple days.”

Dorsey didn't hold back when asked why he was quick to cut ties with Britt.

“From a cultural standpoint, I don’t think he fits in the prototypical character point of what I’m looking for in terms of a leader. He did not live up to his expectations as a player,” Dorsey said, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

Britt was signed to a four-year, $32.5-million contract by the Browns following a 1,002-yard, five-touchdown season with the Los Angeles Rams in 2016.
