P.J. Fleck has found a truly massive oarsman to row the boat in Minnesota now that 6-foot-8, 395-pound Australian lineman Daniel Faalele has committed to the Golden Gophers.
Faalele had never played football prior to this season, when he transferred to IMG Academy in Florida. He was discovered by a recruiter from Hawaii in Australia, and attended one of Michigan's satellite camps in his native land.
Faalele is ranked as a four-star recruit and the 23rd-best offensive tackle in the class of 2018 by ESPN. He held scholarship offers from major programs such as Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Michigan, and Oregon before announcing Saturday that he's chosen on Minnesota.
