Shea Patterson throws snowballs in Big House as transfer talk heats up

Ole Miss quarterback Shea Patterson tossed snowballs in the Big House during his visit to Michigan on Saturday as talk of a potential transfer to the decorated Big Ten school heats up.

Patterson and Rebels safety Deontay Anderson visited the Wolverines together, and may be able to transfer with immediate eligibility due to the NCAA sanctions handed down to Ole Miss.

Neither player is certain to transfer out of Oxford, but both have received permission to contact other institutions and appear likely to settle elsewhere.

Patterson and Anderson later took in Michigan's basketball game against UCLA, where the quarterback was greeted with chants of "we want Shea!" from the student section.

Patterson, who's parents are longtime season ticket holders at Michigan, is easily the biggest fish in the transfer pond. He lit up the stat sheet as a sophomore, throwing for 2,259 yards and 17 touchdowns before a knee injury sidelined him for the final five games.

Michigan has fielded a relatively stale offense in recent years, but the dynamic Patterson would surely open up Jim Harbaugh's playbook if he indeed takes his talents to Ann Arbor permanently.
