In his maiden season as a starter, having missed the first game of the year, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Jacoby Brissett has survived an NFL-high 47 sacks in 2017, and it hasn't gone unnoticed by his teammates.

The second-year pro says it is "fun" for him to take hits and get back up, though he's generally not a fan of taking shots from defenders. Veteran running back Frank Gore has seen plenty of quarterbacks through his 13 NFL seasons, but few who can take a lick and keep ticking like the young passer, who turns 24 next Monday.

"He's tough as f---," Gore told ESPN's Mike Wells. "I forget sometimes he’s so young, because for him to come in and do what he did and stay focused and his mind stays strong...

"I can tell he’s happy to be in this situation. To be the man, even though he’s been taking a beating this season. He’s happy he’s gotten this opportunity to play and to show he can be a starting quarterback in this league."

Brissett has had a rough go of things since being traded from the New England Patriots at the end of training camp, but he's battled through the struggles, passing for 2,542 yards with 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions, while rushing for 206 yards and three scores.
